Reiki is the Japanese word for “Universal Life Energy.” This energy is all around us and in our bodies (animals, plants and everything!) and we can channel and partner with that life force to create optimal health and wellbeing.

A Little History
I have trained in an intensive, immersive, highly accountable one-year apprenticeship and am 6th generation directly certified and attuned in the Mikao Usui lineage, developed in 1920 from the ancient practice. The system was passed hand-to-hand from Usui to a Japanese naval surgeon, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, who in turn passed it to a Japanese-American woman, Hawayo Takata.
Takata introduced Reiki to the West and created 22 Reiki Masters. John Harvey Gray was one of the original 22 in 1976, and was the longest practicing and most experienced Reiki Master Teacher in the U.S. He trained, and upon his passing, bequeathed the center to his wife Lourdes Gray, who trained me. The Usui line of mastery of Reiki is very specific and detailed to ensure it continues to be performed with proper technical expertise.
