Resolutions & The Koshas: Reaching Goals with All 5 Layers of Being
The Koshas are the 5 layers of the self: The physical body, energy/breath, mental/emotional, intellectual/wisdom, and spiritual/bliss. We will learn how to set, pursue, and reach our goals for 2022 by including all 5 layers of our being, and how to use yoga and mediation to support our endeavors.

Three months into the New Year, we are often either full force on our new goals and running into obstacles and frustrations, or we've completely forgotten what resolutions we made. That makes the end of the first quarter of the year the perfect time to refresh and activate our vision for the new year in a different way with strategies based on the 5 Koshas, or the 5 layers of being: physical form, energetic + breath, mental + emotional, intellectual + wisdom, and spiritual + joy.
We often try to use sheer will to create new habits, reach goals, and create the life we want, and at times become disillusioned with the exhaustion, anxiety, depression and pressure we feel when we consistently push and punish ourselves. This is because we try to work from the level of "physical exertion" only, even when our resolutions go beyond the physical aspects to emotional, intellectual, and spiritual goals. And even though we are made of so much more.
What if we tap into all our natural resources by including all of our subtle energy bodies in the process of setting, pursuing, and reaching our goals for 2022? What will happen if we include our whole selves, including the parts of us that can replenish and renew us and take us beyond ourselves, in our planning and execution? You can only become the new person you imagine you can be if you bring your entire being with you.
We'll learn all about the 5 Koshas (or bodies, or "sheaths" in Sanskrit) from the classic yoga text, Taittiriya Upanishad.
We'll discuss why we should be making choices and decisions based on all 5 layers, instead of just the first one, and brainstorm how to involve them all in your resolutions for the new year. And then we'll practice meditation, breathwork, and yoga flow to begin to incorporate them into our goal setting, our daily routine, and our experience of upleveling our reality to its next level of love, joy, passion, and fulfillment.
*You must be fully vaccinated (2 shots) to attend in person. In person spots are limited to 9 for everyone's health and safety. You will have a choice when you register to add a comment to say whether you will attend in person or on Zoom. After 9 in-person spots are filled, all other ticket reservations will be for Zoom online participation.
