Jenni Crumpton, Founder of Osha Ruah

Welcome! I spent over a decade creating advertising campaigns for Fortune 500 brands before realizing I wasn't meant to spend my life convincing people they were lacking something they could buy; I wanted to help people identify with their innate wholeness and worth.

I earned a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University in New York City. I studied social and structural ethics, inter-religious justice movements, and political theory pertaining to creating a world of equality and opportunity for all. I also delved into the Divine Feminine and published the book Femmevangelical, a theological look at how women operate in popular culture, business, politics, and every area of life to overcome oppression within patriarchal religions to follow the soul’s innate knowledge that freedom is the natural state of being for all of humanity.

For the next several years, I worked as an executive at international non-profits and NGOs, running campaigns for racial equality, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, inter-faith peacemaking and counterterrorism, anti-xenophobia and cultural education, eco-feminism and climate protection, the rights of victims of child sexual abuse, and prison reform.

I witnessed how burned out social justice advocates and organizers easily become, as they work to change the world while often neglecting to heal the personal traumas that led them to the work. But it’s not just them; we are all here to change the world with our lives, and often find ourselves paralyzed by trauma, and engaged in subconscious patterns that block our energy from our purpose.

As I engaged my own trauma healing over many years via yoga, reiki, pranayama, meditation, therapy, and writing, I discovered my passion to work with individuals and small groups on the deep, intricate personal healing required for humanity and our Mother Earth to be freed to evolve to our full potential - physically, mentally and spiritually.

I am an ordained minister in the Christian Church trained in pastoral counseling. Because of my deep interfaith experience and my universal spiritual beliefs and practices, I work equally thoughtfully with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Agnostics, Atheists and all human beings. My qualifications:

  • Sixth generation, directly certified and attuned (Reiki 1, 2 & Advanced) Reiki Master apprentice with Lourdes Gray in the lineage of Mikao Usui of Kyoto, Japan.

  • Yoga Alliance RYT 200, currently completing the next level 300 hour yoga teacher training.

  • Certified in the HearthMath Institute’s Resilient Heart trauma-informed breathing techniques.

  • Certified in yoga for trauma and addiction by Kula for Karma, and trained in trauma processing and movement-based releasing techniques in programs by experts like Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score, and Dr. Peter Levine.

Thank you for visiting Osha (Sanksrit: Shining/burning) Ruah (Hebrew: Spirit/breath), where we come together with unconditional love and compassion to reveal and strengthen the shining spirit and pure, unique soul within each of us. I look forward to joining you on this journey.
